Celebrating 2021 and Beyond

Updated: Dec 19, 2021

We are rapidly approaching the end of 2021 and Copper and Brass Paper Goods has experienced several verifiable “pinch me” moments this year.

Between a feature on The Today Show, a segment on CNN, a Good Morning America article, being selected as a featured product for the network TLC promo boxes, picking up a deal with big box stores, a momentous moment with Buy From a Black Woman in Times Square and tons of other great things….2021 has been the greatest year for me professionally.

To many Copper and Brass may seem like an overnight success, but I know just how much hard work I’ve put into the business behind the scenes for the last 3 years (4 years if you include periods of research). To say I’m proud is an understatement.

I have to admit, I haven’t always been the most confident in celebrating my accomplishments actually I shy away from tooting my own horn. Instead of basking in the moment I’ve tried to remain humble, acknowledge the milestones and then move on. Funny thing is I have no issue acknowledging other’s hard work and accomplishments.

I’m learning to take a moment and give the accomplishments the attention it deserves. Now I’ve been thinking…Why do I have a hard time doing that for myself? I know these moments are worthy but they can also be uncomfortable.

In 2022….I’m celebrating accomplishments…Big & Small. Here’s my plan to celebrate these moments:

1. Talk about what’s going on. It’s not bragging. Mention the hard work and tenacity it took to accomplish the task.

2. Have a celebration. Celebrations don’t need to be elaborate either. You can pop a bottle of bubbly, have a huge cupcake or Zoom call with a group of friends. You deserve to hear your tribe tell you they are proud of you.

3. Take pictures. I’m terrible at this one but now I have a Youtube Channelhttps://www.youtube.com/c/CopperandBrassPaperGoods

so my reluctance is improving. Record your reactions. Document these moments.

Life is good and it can be even better. Learn to love on yourself a little bit more everyday. Celebrate You!
