It's Fall Yall

Writer's picture: Ariel YoungAriel Young

I woke up early this Saturday morning and I was pleasantly surprised by some cooler temperatures. I've noticed some of the leaves are changing color, the days are a tad bit cooler and day by day we get closer to needing a light jacket. I, for one, can't wait for the first chill and shorter days.

After leaving a long day at work, especially during the fall months, I like to walk into the house with dinner ready and the house smelling scrumptious. I wanted to share one of my favorite crock pot meals that I've been making for a couple of years now. I'm not a cook by any stretch of the imagination but I make a mean crock pot roast.

Mississippi Pot Roast (Just 5 Ingredients)

  • Chuck Roast

  • Au Jus Gravy Mix

  • Stick of Butter

  • Ranch Dressing Mix

  • Jar of Pepperoncini Peppers

  • (Optional: Season your roast beforehand with your favorite seasonings)

Process

  • Add meat to the crock pot. Add the packets of Au Jus Gravy Mix and Ranch Dressing Mix on top of the roast.

  • Place stick of butter on top of the roast and mixes.

  • Add peppers and pepper juice on the top of the roast and around the roast.

  • Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.

  • For a bonus: Throw in some baby carrots and a few potatoes during the last 45 minutes of cooking.

  • Serve with potatoes, veggies and dinner rolls.
